This is an entirely reasonable question. Most people know about the Beer & Wine store in the strip mall across the street from the Bethesda North Conference Center, but few people know that there are other options in the neighborhood.
For example, the Maryland State Liquor store is hiding in the Montrose Crossing Shopping Center less than a mile up Rockville Pike. It’s technically close enough to walk to, but you probably want to drive if you can.
A lot of people know about the Whole Foods a few blocks south on Rockville Pike, but did you know that there’s also a Harris Teeter a block down Old Georgetown Road? Both have a decent beer and wine selection.
Another place that’s worth your while is Rodman’s Discount, a little gourmet supermarket that features a very good beer selection, that sits next to the Shopper’s Food Warehouse off of Nicholson Lane.
All of these can be found on the SPX Good Eats map. Liquor and beer stores are marked with a martini glass and supermarkets are marked with a shopping basket.
